Provoke è il secondo capitolo della saga fotografica Omen. Se Humanity osserva l'essere umano nella quotidianità, qui quella stessa umanità prende coscienza delle contraddizioni politiche, sociali ed economiche che ne condizionano l'esistenza e trasforma il disagio individuale in dissenso collettivo. Attraverso manifestazioni per i diritti civili, proteste politiche e scioperi dei lavoratori, il progetto documenta il bisogno di opporsi alle ingiustizie e rivendicare libertà, dignità e cambiamento. Il titolo assume un significato critico: la provocazione non risiede necessariamente nella protesta, ma nelle condizioni che la rendono necessaria. Ciò che il potere percepisce come una minaccia all'ordine costituito può essere, per chi protesta, una risposta a ciò che considera inaccettabile. La fotografia osserva questa frattura senza sostenere una specifica ideologia, mostrando il momento in cui l'essere umano prende posizione e tenta di incidere sul proprio futuro. Provoke is the second chapter of the photographic saga Omen. While Humanity observes human beings in their everyday lives, this chapter explores how humanity becomes aware of the political, social, and economic contradictions that shape its existence, transforming individual discontent into collective dissent. Through demonstrations for civil rights, political protests, and workers’ strikes, the project documents the need to oppose injustice and demand freedom, dignity, and change. The title carries a critical meaning: provocation does not necessarily lie in the act of protest itself, but in the conditions that make it necessary. What those in power perceive as a threat to the established order may, for those who protest, be a response to what they consider unacceptable. Photography observes this divide without endorsing any specific ideology, capturing the moment when people take a stand and attempt to shape their own future. Within Omen, Provoke marks the transition from existence to an awareness of conflict, foreshadowing the more dramatic revelation of Apocalypse.
