Questo progetto è il primo capitolo di una ricerca fotografica dedicata all'essere umano, alla sua presenza nel mondo e alle tracce che lascerà dietro di sé. Attraverso immagini di vita quotidiana, Umanità osserva donne, uomini, bambini e anziani nel fluire ordinario delle loro esistenze. Gesti semplici, attese, incontri, momenti di solitudine e di condivisione diventano frammenti di una rappresentazione collettiva in cui ciascuno interpreta il proprio ruolo, spesso inconsapevolmente. Le fotografie non cercano l'eccezionale, ma ciò che è comune e universale. Sono immagini che raccontano una specie nel momento in cui vive il proprio presente, immersa nelle sue abitudini, nei suoi desideri, nelle sue contraddizioni e fragilità. Il titolo richiama l'idea del mondo come un grande palcoscenico sul quale si svolge la storia dell'umanità. Ogni individuo è protagonista e comparsa allo stesso tempo, parte di una narrazione più ampia che attraversa generazioni, culture e luoghi. Questo lavoro rappresenta l'inizio di una saga fotografica che si interroga sul destino dell'uomo. Se in Umanità il soggetto è l'essere umano nel suo tempo presente, i capitoli successivi esploreranno la memoria, l'assenza, la possibilità dell'estinzione e l'emergere di nuove forme di esistenza artificiale. Le immagini di oggi diventeranno così testimonianze di ciò che siamo stati, ricordi destinati forse a sopravvivere ai loro stessi protagonisti. In questa prospettiva, ogni fotografia assume il valore di un documento e di una traccia: una piccola prova dell'esistenza umana prima che il tempo, la storia o altre intelligenze ne ridefiniscano il significato.
Humanity is the first chapter of a photographic exploration dedicated to the human condition, our presence in the world, and the traces we will leave behind. Through images of everyday life, Humanity observes women, men, children, and the elderly as they move through the ordinary flow of existence. Simple gestures, moments of waiting, encounters, solitude, and shared experiences become fragments of a collective portrait in which each individual plays a role, often without realizing it. The photographs do not seek the extraordinary, but rather what is common and universal. They portray a species living in its own present, immersed in its habits, desires, contradictions, and vulnerabilities. The title evokes the idea of the world as a vast stage upon which the story of humanity unfolds. Every individual is both protagonist and passerby, part of a larger narrative that transcends generations, cultures, and places. This work marks the beginning of a photographic saga that reflects on the destiny of humankind. If Humanity focuses on the human being in the present moment, the following chapters will explore memory, absence, the possibility of extinction, and the emergence of new forms of artificial existence. Today's images will eventually become testimonies of who we once were—memories that may outlive those they portray. From this perspective, every photograph becomes both document and trace: a small piece of evidence of human existence before time, history, or other forms of intelligence redefine its meaning.
